About Mount Meru
Mount Meru, standing at 4,566 meters (14,980 feet), is Tanzania's second-highest peak and a spectacular volcanic mountain in its own right. Located within Arusha National Park, the climb offers a thrilling adventure through diverse landscapes, from montane forest to alpine desert, with the added bonus of wildlife encounters including giraffes, buffaloes, and colobus monkeys.
The standard route takes 3-4 days, culminating in a challenging summit night hike to Socialist Peak (4,566m). The views from the summit are breathtaking, with Mount Kilimanjaro visible on clear days.
