About Usambara Mountains
The Usambara Mountains are one of Tanzania's most beautiful and biodiverse regions, part of the Eastern Arc Mountains. Often called the "Galapagos of Africa" for their incredible levels of endemic species, these ancient mountains offer a refreshing escape from the heat of the plains. The range is divided into the West Usambaras (centered around Lushoto) and the East Usambaras (closer to the coast).
